W elcome to the 2010 South African Critical Care Congress. This year, the
Bloemfontein Congress is being held in the Drakensberg, but we will offer you
the same friendly hospitality, academic excellence and fun social programme as
previous Bloemfontein Congresses.
Our theme this year is Goal-directed Care. With the help of excellent international
speakers joining forces with the more familiar invited local speakers, we hope to
set targets for improving Critical Care in South Africa, and a stimulating academic
programme is guaranteed.
The annual educational events of the Critical Care Society are only possible with
the support of the pharmaceutical and equipment companies. As always, we look
forward to supportive, educational, and entertaining input from the trade.
Champagne Sports Resort lies in the Central Drakensberg, with a spectacular view
of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak. Only a four-and-a-half hours’ drive from
Johannesburg and 2 hours from Durban, the resort provides a balance between
recreation for sports enthusiasts and tranquillity for those seeking relaxation while
honing professional skills.
